In 1982, at the very young age of 14, I started my “Childcare” journey. I’ve worked in a childcare center with a work permit during my summer breaks. I wanted this job so badly that even though I didn’t have transportation, walking was my only mode of getting there so that’s what I did. And no matter where I was, If I saw a child, I had to pick them up. Until one day a child bit me. You would’ve thought I’d reframe from picking up every child I saw. But it didn’t.

I was persistent and continued my LOVE for children. After becoming a mother at the age of seventeen (17), there wasn’t anyone more capable than myself of caring for such a precious being. This was my journey to continuing “Childcare.” There were “Early Childhood classes offered in my high school. I signed up to take that class and passed it with flying colors. I knew then that the love I have for children in addition to having a son of my own and then a class I loved and adored, this was certainly my “Niche.”

I dreamed of having a “Childcare” Center in my early adult years but didn’t have the money/finances to see that dream come true. One day I decided to stay home with my then three (3) young children and care for my family and friend’s children for a very low cost of
$50/week for twelve hours a day.
 

Later, I pursued higher education in Early Childhood Education, where I received a certificate of completion. That wasn’t enough. A few years later I returned to a community college in pursuit of an associate degree in early childhood education. Several years later my dream came true. I was the proud owner of “Chiffon’s Tender Loving Care” and Creative Kids University-North Childcare centers. After an additional 3 year winning fight to COVID-19 and 41 years in the child care industry, We decided to retire and bring the “Virtual Preschool” to every home.
